Estes Neighbors sent this letter to the Planning Commission with a number of signatures.
April 20.planning.commission -
One request in the letter was to ask the Commission not to make a recommendation until they received up to date information about Estes Drive traffic at the Town-wide model presentation on May 3rd.
-
The Board announced that will meet on May 4th to make a recommendation. Here is the page with the meeting registration.
Here are some observations gathered from Estes Neighbors who attended the meeting.
-
Dan Jewell, representing Texas-based Trinsic, made false statements in his presentation. Among them he said:
-
The Aura Plan meets the purposes of the Central West Plan – it does not.
-
The Aura Plan will improve traffic congestion on Estes Drive – it will not.
-
-
Planning Commission members discussed the Aura proposal and made a number of points:
-
The Aura Plan does not meet the Central West recommendations – stated by the Chair.
-
Some members liked the planned urban feel of tall buildings near the road.
-
Several members approved the residential housing component. One member said we can always use more housing.
-
-
In general, those of us concerned with Estes Drive traffic, flooding and public safety, did not feel there were many commission members who really heard our concerns.
