History of the Central West Plan

  The Town process lasted over a year, occupied a number of staff members, a consultant, and hundreds of citizens for the purpose of developing a small area plan for the area near the intersection of MLK, Jr. and Estes Drive.

 

• Citizen’s view of Central West Planning Process.  While the Town organized a substantial planning process intended to engage citizens to prepare for writing the 2020 Comprehensive Plan.  Most of those who engaged in this small area plan felt the staff was not interested in citizen input.  At the end of the process, citizens catalogued a significant report of citizen comment that would have been left unrecorded otherwise.
